Mission & Vision
The mission of Rooted Books & Gifts is to connect the people of Grand Island with quality books, gifts, and engagement opportunities in a unique person-centered environment. Rooted Books is committed to making our community a better place now and for future generations by reigniting a love for reading and supporting efforts that enrich life in our community. Rooted Books will be more than a bookstore; it will be a space where community members can come to rest, learn, and make new connections that are rooted in our community.

Our Values
At Rooted Books & Gifts, we value community and growth. We want to help people feel connected to our small corner of the world. We desire to be a place where people can expand and learn how to be better neighbors so our community can be one where all can flourish. Rooted Books & Gifts aims to be a haven for the outsider and is committed to fighting bigotry in all facets of society. We believe all people should have the freedom to read and access information; we do not support book banning of any sort.
We strive to ensure our inventory, events, and staff reflect our values. If you notice something in our operation that contradicts our values, please speak up. We will do our best to receive feedback humbly, accept responsibility, and course correct.
We are located on land the Očhéthi Šakówiŋ (Sioux) and Pâri (Pawnee) first called home.
